Ultrafast laser processing : Applications in the mid-IR and THz domains
The main objective of this PhD will be to demonstrate new modalities to enhance the level of controllabity of local laser energy deposition in semiconductors and so their transformations. In particular, the work will explore the introduction of new wavelengths in the mid-infrared and/or THz and strategies based on the temporal shaping of irradiations. The nonlinear processes expected with these approaches should open up new possibilities for tailoring the optical properties inside semiconductor materials (e.g. silicon) and fabricate 3D architectured microdevices.
